N Series Resistors
High Power AlN Chip
Optimize power handling with N Series resistors on Aluminum Nitride, a safe alternative to BeO. Numerous term styles and thicknesses are available to assist thermal management.

Proper thermal management is required in order to acheive optimal performance of these parts. Power capacities of N Series resistive products are based primarily on thermal conduction (from the resistive film down through the substrate and to the customer's thermal groundplane). Click here to find out more about Thermal Management.

Termination Style Options:
  • Styles such as 'Center Stripe', 'Extended Wrap' and 'Backplane' allow for enhanced thermal conduction due to larger areas of metallization in contact with your baseplate to conduct heat.
  • See 'Part Number Builder' chart below for different options style options.
  • Not all case size / metallization combinations are available, see ‘Term Style Availability Chart’ below.

Thickness Options

  • IMS offers AlN Resistors on 0.015", 0.025" and 0.040" substrates.
  • Thinner substrates allow for a higher rated power because there is less substrate material for heat to pass through.
  • Not all Case Size / Substrate Thickness are available see Substrate Thickness Availability Chart below on the N-Series data sheet.
