N Series Terminations
High Power on AlN Chip
Optimize power handling with N Series terminations on Aluminum Nitride, a safe alternative to BeO. Numerous term styles and thicknesses are available to assist thermal management.
Proper thermal management is required to ensure optimal power performance. Power capacities of N Series resistive products are based primarily on thermal conduction (from the resistive film down through the substrate and to the customer's thermal groundplane). Thickness Options
- IMS offers AlN Terminations on 0.015", 0.025" and 0.040" substrates.
- Thinner substrates allow for a higher rated power because there is less substrate material for heat to pass through.
